Windows Getting Started Guide

We’re excited to announce that the Getting Started Guide has been updated to include Windows Phone 8! This resource will help you build your first Windows Phone app and join this new movement in technology. You don’t have to be a professional developer to build apps, just follow these steps to get started. The professional developer tools are available to students at no cost and you can create a Windows Phone app even if you don’t have a Windows Phone. Follow these three simple steps to start:

3 Simple Steps To Get Started

Step 1 Download Your Free Dev Tools

See the products available to you and set up your Windows Phone Dev Center account through DreamSpark here.

Step 2 Build and Test Your App

Find developer resources such as sample code and step by step guidance here.

Step 3 Publish Your App

As a student you can publish your app to the Windows Phone store at no charge. Get your Windows Phone Dev Center account through DreamSpark.

Take a look at the new Windows Phone Getting Started Guide and start learning how to make your own apps. Have you published apps in the Windows App store? Tell us about them in the comments and you could be featured in the blog.
